21 Years in Prison for Lady Gaga’s  Dog-Napper

Lady Gaga is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She is known for her flamboyant and theatrical stage performances and chart-topping pop music, which has earned her multiple Grammy Awards. She has also starred in several films.

Lady Gaga has three French bulldogs: Koji, Miss Asia Kinney, and Gustav. Her two French bulldogs, Koji and Gustav, were stolen in February 2021 when a gunman reportedly approached her dog walker Fischer and shot him. The dog walker was fortunate to survive the attack, but the two dogs were taken. Lady Gaga allegedly offered $500,000 for the safe return of her two French bulldogs. A few days later, the dogs were found and returned safely to Lady Gaga.

The dog-napper was caught and has been sentenced to 21 years in jail.

About the Case and Confession

Last year, James Howard Jackson attacked the singer’s French bulldogs and shot her dog walker. He signed a plea agreement on Monday (05.12.22), and will be imprisoned in Los Angeles County.

Jackson confessed to the charge of causing grievous bodily harm and a prior strike. Still, he pleaded not guilty to one count of attempted murder, according to the LA County District Attorney’s Office.

He had been charged with attempted murder planning a robbery, and assault with a semi-automatic firearm.

“The plea agreement holds Mr. Jackson accountable for committing a cold-hearted violent crime and offers justice for our victim,” the district attorney’s office stated in a statement.

Jackson was one of five individuals who took part in the brutal heist of Gaga’s pets. But police claim the gang did not target the singer since they were unaware that the dogs belonged to the artist.

Instead, they think the group was motivated by the worth of the French bulldogs, which can fetch thousands of dollars each when sold.

Prosecutors claim that on February 24 of last year, Jackson and his accomplices drove through a number of Los Angeles neighborhoods looking for the breed before turning their attention to Gaga’s dog walker, Ryan Fischer, when they spotted him with three of her pets, Asia, Koji, and Gustav, on Sunset Boulevard.

In an assault captured on tape by the doorbell camera of an adjacent house, Jackson punched, choked, and shot Ryan.

The dog walker was heard shouting on the tape, “Oh, my God! Both “I’ve been shot!” and “Help me!”. He additionally said, “My chest is bleeding!”

Ryan experienced what he described as a “very close call” with death and lost a portion of a lung.

Other Involvements

A few days after the assault, Jennifer McBride—who was also charged—gave Koji and Gustav back.

Harold White, another Jackson associate who participated in the crime, entered a no-contest plea on Monday. He will be sentenced next year.

Earlier this year, Jaylin White, Harold’s son, was sentenced to four years in jail after entering a no-contest plea to second-degree robbery.
