Adele Releases ‘Easy On Me’, First Single And Video From New Album ’30’

Adele’s first new song in six years has come, after a sluggish PR effort. Easy on Me was released at midnight UK time, providing fans with the initial glimpse of 30, her “divorce album.” Its melancholy piano ballad mesmerizes the listeners. After 19, 21, and 25, it is her most acclaimed album. Adele discusses her decision to end her marriage in 2019 in Easy On Me, pleading for pardon from her child and ex-husband. In a song, she said, “I changed who I was to put you both first,” and ultimately she gave up. That raw and unpolished moment sends chills back of your neck. Adele’s tone at that particular moment of the song is full of sorrow as well as the determinant.

Director Xavier Dolan uses this phase for transitioning from black and white to full-colour in the musical video, emphasizing that this is the voice of a lady who has demolished her whole life and realized she does not have guilty feelings while she prioritizes herself first. In the lyric “go easy on me”, Adele reveals that it is too early for her family members to understand her standpoint.

The song, “I had good intentions”,  was reportedly composed as the opening track for Adele’s next album, and it dates all the way back to the year of her divorce. Her voice, which is both powerful and sensitive, reflects the intensity of those feelings.

The song, however, has a kind tone to it. Adele is touching out to those who her actions have wounded, but Easy On Me is also a huge woolly comforter wrapped over the isolation and sorrow of anybody who has had a life-altering separation.

It has already been a success. As per, the video debut on YouTube was 300,000 people in a very short period. Within 12 hours of its publication, it had been seen over 12 million times.

The song arrives only five weeks before the release of her new album, which was initially teased in a worldwide marketing effort in which the number 30 was projected on billboards and buildings throughout Mexico, Brazil, Italy, Dubai, Ireland, Germany, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

When Taylor Swift pushed her next album ahead by a week to avoid a conflict with Adele, fans accurately predicted the launch date of November 19th.

The title, like Adele’s previous three albums, refers to a particular period in her life.

At the age of thirty, she engaged with her long-term boyfriend, Simon Konecki, and subsequently left him.

The album was made to assist her eight-year-old son to accept their divorce, which occurred the following year.

In an interview with Vogue magazine, she said she wanted to explain who she was and why she deliberately decided to destroy her son’s whole existence in search of her own pleasure via this record. She also added that her son was often dissatisfied as a result of it, and it is a genuine hurt to Adele, which she might never be able to heal.

There are new tones

Although Easy On Me is a conventional Adele ballad, there have also been indications that the remainder of the album would feature Adele’s music in a more creative light. One tune, according to Vogue, has her voice sampled and resized over a mesmerizing rhythm evocative of Goldfrapp’s electro-pop act. She has also collaborated with Inflo, the London-based producer behind Michael Kiwanuka’s and Little Simz’s vintage R&B sounds, as well as Ludwig Göransson, the Oscar-winning composer of the Black Panther soundtrack. Jo Whiley, a Radio 2 DJ who has aired a few of the tracks, claimed the album has all sorts of rhythms and themes.

Meanwhile, the music industry has reacted to Adele’s long-awaited comeback, with Canadian rapper Drake informing his Instagram followers that one of his closest friends had just released a single.

Alicia Silverstone, who starred in the Clueless film, shared a funny video on TikTok of herself ready to bury her grief while listening to the London singer’s newest emotional offering.

30 is likely to be a punch for the UK music business, regardless of how it appears. Only Dua Lipa’s Future Nostalgia, published in the first half of 2020, has the record of selling 300,000 copies to earn a platinum disc. It took ten months to do this. Adele’s latest album, 25, got platinum disc within the first 24 hours of its release. With almost 3.6 million copies sold, it is on the way to becoming the 14th best-selling album in the UK.

Riches embarrassment

Even though the CD industry has fallen dramatically after 2015, and Adele’s streaming statistics do not yet equal those of her contemporaries, Sony, her new music company, will be aiming to reach those kinds of sales peaks.

On Spotify, she has 22 million monthly viewers compared to 46.5 million for Taylor Swift and 75 million for Ed Sheeran.

On the other hand, new music will certainly increase those numbers, even if Adele has strong competition from Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, and Abba, all of whom will release new work in the following weeks.

As per the view of chief executive of the Official Charts Company Martin Talbot, the stack is an “embarrassment of riches” for the music retail industry, but he predicts Adele will come out on top. He told the BBC that anyone who anticipated anything besides 30 being the greatest album of this Xmas would be a courageous person.
