Army of Thieves: The prequel to Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead has just scored its fall release date on Netflix. We got this news from an official tweet from the filmmaker of the series who posted this announcement along with a tiny teaser. “ARMY OF THEIVES” is releasing globally on Netflix on October 29th which has finally beaten the bush around the release date rumors.

Zack Snyder has also produced the sequel where he handled all the directorial reins to the film lead Matthias Schweighofer this time around. Based on the synopsis of the plot which was dropped earlier this year, the zombie-free sequel finds Nathalie Emmanuel’s character. She is a mysterious woman named Gwendoline enlisting Schweighöfer’s safe-cracker Ludwig Dieter into a crew of top-shelf criminals wanted by Interpol. their plan is to break the series into Europe’s most impossible crack safes.
According to the earlier description of the sequel, as being an English, French, and German language movie it gives an international feel. The flavor of the movie is glimpsed in the first teaser of the series which also flashes shots of the continent as when we meet the crook crew which includes Stuart Martin as Brad Cafe, Guz Khan as Rolph, and Ruby O. Fee as Korina.
Snyder might not be directing, but if you see the slickness of this trailer shows he is still in the mix. Not only he does produce he also co-wrote the script with the Army of the Dead scribe Shay Hatten and according to the looks of it, but he also edited the teaser.
This isn’t the first time Snyder and co. will turn back the clock on Army world. The other prequel, Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas is an anime series delving into the Las Vegas zombies at the onset of the outbreak. Much of the original cast return to voice their characters while new additions to the lineup include Joe Manganiello and Christian Slater.
Army of the dead 2 is currently in the works and while we know that it is 100% happening, very little is known about the plot or story of the series in the outside world. We don’t know how it will begin. If we go back the first film ended with Vanderohe who was the only survivor from the original heist who discovers an infected bite right as when his plan arrives in Mexico City.
