Brad Pitt has broken the silence regarding the latest court appearance of his ex-wife Angelina Jolie, in which he accuses him of physical and emotional abuse during their marriage.
The Hollywood star’s attorney, Anne Kiley, said in a statement sent to Us Weekly: “Brad has owned everything he’s responsible for from day one – unlike the other party – but it’s not going to be owning nothing he hasn’t done. He’s been on the receiving end of all sorts of personal attacks and misrepresentations.”
The legal specialist said that fortunately, the various public authorities that the ‘Maleficent’ star “has tried to use against him for the last six years have made their own decisions. Brad will continue to answer in court as he always has.”
The statement came in response to documents Jolie filed on Tuesday, October 4, in connection with her battle with the father of her children over a French winery they shared before their split.
In the documents, the director of ‘Unbroken’ revealed some details of the alleged incident that she, Pitt and their children starred in on a private flight in 2016 and that was the reason why she filed for divorce that year.
“Throughout the long overnight flight, Brad physically and emotionally abused Jolie and her children, who were then between the ages of 8 and 15,” the ‘Girl, Interrupted’ star alleged in the documents. “After that flight, for the sake of her family, Angelina decided to file for divorce.”
The presentation further claimed that the Oscar winner “poured beer on Jolie” and “poured beer and red wine on the children”. The duo, who married in 2014 after nearly a decade together, share six children: Maddox, 21, Pax, 18, Zahara, 17, Shiloh, 16, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 14.
The ‘Changeling’ star further alleged that she gave her ex the opportunity to buy her share of Château Miraval after their split, but claimed that Pitt would only agree to the sale if Jolie signed a non-disclosure agreement “that would have contractually barred him from doing so.” speak out of court about Pitt’s physical and emotional abuse of her and her children.” When she refused to sign the NDA, the ‘Bullet Train’ star reportedly “walked away from the agreement.”
After the actress’s accusations hit the media, a person close to the actor described the accusations as “completely false,” adding, “His story is constantly evolving.”
