Celine Dion: concert dates postponed again for “health reasons”

On the verge of tears, Celine Dion announced on Friday that she was postponing all the concerts of her “Courage World Tour” tour in Europe this year until 2023, due to a health problem.

“I feel a little better … but I still have spasms,” explained the Quebec singer in a press release published in France by La Défense Arena. “I’m so sorry to have to change the dates for the European tour again; the first time it was because of the pandemic, now it’s because of my health,” said the 54-year-old artist.

“To be on stage, I have to be in top form. To be honest, I can’t wait, but I’m not quite ready yet…I’m doing my best to come back 100% to get on stage, because that’s what you deserve. she.

The dates scheduled for 2022 are rescheduled from February 24 to October 4, 2023; the new dates at @ParisLaDefArena (September 2023) will be announced within 2 weeks.

In France, the six concerts scheduled at La Défense Arena – September 16, 17, 20, 21, 23 and 24, 2022 – have been postponed to September 2023, specifies the hall, which explains that the singer “continues her recovery”. For more information, ticket holders are asked to go to the original point of sale, it is reported on the venue’s website. The new concert dates will be communicated within two weeks.

Celine Dion also addressed her fans directly in a video posted on her social networks, where she once again apologized and thanked them for their “loyalty”, her voice trembling with emotion.

Celine Dion had formalized the European dates for her world tour in 2019 and should have been in Paris in June and July 2020. More than 200,000 tickets had been sold in just a few hours. Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus epidemic, this series of concerts had to be postponed.

Celine Dion had given the first 52 shows of the tour before the start of the pandemic, at the beginning of 2020. She then announced last January that she was canceling the North American part of this tour because of her health problems.

“I’m doing the best I can to get back in shape as soon as possible, continued the singer this Friday in her video. And know that the many messages of love and support you send me are part of my medical treatment. It helps me enormously. Thank you very much for all this love,” she concluded.
