Crash Landing On You series follows the story of Yoon Se-ri, who is a South Korean heiress and that too to a large business conglomerate. She also runs her own company as her aim is to earn and work independently. The sole reason behind all of this is her choice of staying away from her jealous stepmother.
One day she goes out paragliding and gets caught in an unexpected tornado.
She, unfortunately, ends up crash landing in North Korea, where she meets Captain Ri Jeong-hyeok. During her absence, her elder brother took over the family business, and his wife also wanted to get Se-ris Choice too. When they heard that she was still alive and not dead, they tried their hardest to prevent her from returning.
All the time in the series, we see Yoon Se-ri and Captain spend a lot of time together. He even tries to smuggle Yoon back to South Korea. While staying in a foreign nation, Yoon Se-ri gets exposed to all the hardships and struggles of North Korea. After learning this, she then learns to appreciate the simple things in life. When she returns back to South Korea, she becomes kinder and more generous CEO. Side by side, Captain Ri also gets a chance to pursue his musical passion.
At the end of the series, we see the two of them reuniting in Switzerland. Jeong-Hyeok is now discharged from the military hospital. He has now become a professional pianist representing North Korea.
