The Marvel Cinematic Universe is expanding to new heights with Phase 4, and it all culminates with Doctor Strange 2, officially titled Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which takes the 28th film position in the Marvel.
Cinematic Universe (MCU). Marvel Studios produced it, while Walt Disney Studios and Motion Pictures released it. The sequel film will combine plot strands from Loki, Wanda Vision, and Spider-Man: No Way Home to build a story that might be greater than Avengers: Endgame.
Doctor Strange 2 Release Date
Initially, the sequel to Doctor Strange 2 was set to begin production in May 2020, with a May 2021 release date in mind; however, the covid-19 pandemic situation pushed back to November 5, 2021. Finally, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is all set to launch on March 25, 2022.
Doctor Strange 2 Event
Doctor Strange 2 will take place following the events of WandaVision sometime in 2023. The film is also technically taking place after Loki, although that show takes place in a different timeframe from the central MCU reality.
And, given that Strange will appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange 2 will most likely occur after that film’s events. There is also the possibility of some crossover between the two films. Now that the multiverse and time travel is a thing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, pretty much everything is allowed.
Phase 4
Can we refer to it as Doctor Strange 2 Multiverse of Madness is part of Marvel’s Phase 4 ambitions, which include several films and television shows. Black Widow, Thor 4: Love and Thunder, The Eternals, and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings are all coming to theatres. Marvel TV series The Falcon and Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki, What If. Hawkeye, She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, and Moon Knight will be available on the new Disney Plus streaming service.
On November 7, Marvel CEO Kevin Feige told Bloomberg News that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness would require a Disney Plus subscription since events from all-new streaming series will be included. According to Feige, Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch will play an essential role in the film, and the Loki series starring Tom Hiddleston will also play a role. “I’m not sure we’ve ever recognized that,” Feige added. “However, it does.”
Doctor Strange 2 Team and Cast:
Doctor Strange 2 director, Sam Raimi’s involvement was announced in April 2020. Scott Derrickson was going to manage the film initially (who also directed the first movie). Derrickson allegedly planned to take the film in a highly horror-oriented direction, but he finally dropped out due to creative disputes with Marvel Studios.
Jade Bartlett had previously been recruited to write the script in October 2019. Michael Waldron, the lead writer of Loki, has been appointed to write Doctor Strange 2 in February 2020. When Waldron and Raimi were brought on board, they created a new script from scratch. In June 2021.
So far, we know, six major cast roles were confirmed for this movie, and other crew members will recruit sooner once they did it; we will let you know on our website.
- Dr. Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) is a neurosurgeon who became a master of the Mystic Arts following a car accident.
- Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen): An Avenger who can use chaos magic, hypnosis, and telekinesis, and modify reality.
- Wong, a Master of the Mystic Arts and Stranger’s Mentor and Friend, is played by Benedict Wong.
- Christine Palmer (Rachel McAdams): An emergency Surgeon who was Strange’s colleague and girlfriend.
- Chiwetel Ejiofor as Karl Mordo: A former Master of the Mystic Arts and Mentor who has become Strange’s adversary.
- Xochitl Gomez plays America Chavez.
Doctor Strange 2 Trailer
Marvel’s trailer for Doctor Strange 2 has yet to be published, but fans can presumably anticipate it to appear around the end of 2021 or early 2022. Because the film is said to have links to Spider-Man: No Way Home, the trailer is unlikely to be released until after that film’s December 2021 release. We had anticipated that WandaVision would clarify matters, with many anticipating a Doctor Strange cameo, but that did not happen. It is still believed that the series did set up the sequel, but we don’t know-how.
Because the movie takes up after the events of the show, we’re left wondering if she’ll be assisting Doctor Strange with whatever multiverse hijinks he needs assistance with or if she was the one to trigger them in the first place.
In terms of how the Multiverse of Madness fits into the more significant Marvel Cinematic Universe – which now includes Disney+ TV productions – Feige indicated that there is absolutely a link between the Loki series and the Doctor Strange sequel. That, we assume, will be He Who Remains and his variations.
