FromSoftware Announces Expansion for Elden Ring

FromSoftware has officially announced Shadow of the Erdtree, an upcoming DLC expansion for Elden Ring. The news was confirmed through tweets from the official Elden Ring and FromSoftware Twitter accounts, with new key artwork for the expansion also revealed.

Despite the announcement, there is no official release date set for the expansion yet. Elden Ring’s one-year anniversary has just passed, with over 20 million copies sold and unprecedented game of the year awards received.

Shadow of the Erdtree will be the first single-player expansion for Elden Ring, with the only other DLC being the Colosseum multiplayer update. The amount of content in the expansion has yet to be confirmed.

Elden Ring is also receiving its own set of collectible artbooks, featuring full-color volumes of key art, concept work, and development designs for all parts of the open-world action RPG.

Creator Miyazaki has indicated that the success of Elden Ring will not dictate what content FromSoftware chooses to make next. Additionally, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is also currently in development by the studio.
