Square Enix has announced Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier, a battle royale set in Midgar before the events of Final Fantasy 7, and Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis, for a single player and structured in chapters that will cover the entire story arc of the original game.
The First Soldier takes place 30 years before FFVII, when Shinra is creating SOLDIER, “an experimental group of fighters”. It seems that we will see many shootings and close combat, in addition to various skills and being able to go from first to third person view.
Invocations seem to be part of the game too; The trailer shows Ifrit being called to the battlefield. In addition, there will be classic enemies of the saga along with other players that we will face, and we will even see the Guardian Scorpion, that boss of FFVII.
It will arrive this year on Android and iOS.
As to Ever CrisisIt is a single player title that is structured in chapters and covers the entire FF7 timeline, including Advent Children, Before Crisis, Crisis Core and Dirge of Cerberus. It includes a classic visual style, which looks like a modern version of the game on PSX.
Ever Crisis looks like a real-time combat game with lots of skills, summons, and everything fans can hope for. This one will arrive in 2022.
