Warner Media, HBO’s parent company, released a video in December 2020 with an update on the release dates of several of its highly awaited movies. A 2022 release date for House of the Dragon was revealed in the clip. The only uncertainty is when exactly in 2022 this will happen.

The first half of 2022 remains an option, however, remember that production on the series began in April of 2021. Hollywood Reporter reports that summer 2021 filming is still going on despite a team member being diagnosed with COVID-19 in July.

Something about House of the Dragon

“House of the Dragon” is set 300 years before the events of GoT and chronicles the beginning and end of the Targaryen dynasty, reports THR. Entertainment Week reports that this includes Westeros’s epic Dance of Dragons, as well as the Targaryen civil war that tore the country apart. After the revelation that Viserys will be leading the cast, it seems like the timeline will begin with Jaehaerys Targaryen’s power transfer to Viserys Targaryen in the chapter”Heirs of the Dragon”. If this is indeed the case, it sounds like the series will cover Viserys’ quest to become the ruler of Westeros.

HBO still not clear in releasing date of the house of a dragon but they gave several hints that we covered so far and if team members get covid-19 means there will lot of setback and got to overcome that situation that might be delaying issue in the set.
