“That’s when I screamed”

Jeremy Renner recently discussed a near-death experience he had while filming a stunt for his upcoming film, “Tag.” The actor revealed that he was perched on a stack of chairs that toppled over, causing him to fall backwards and slam his head into the concrete floor.

Renner admitted that he didn’t initially think it was that serious, stating, “I was like, ‘Oh, it’s just a concussion.’ Nothing was broken or anything, but it was the closest thing to death that I’ve ever experienced.”

However, things took a turn for the worse when Renner tried to stand up and couldn’t feel his arms or legs. “That’s when I screamed,” he recounted.

The actor was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with a fractured right elbow and left wrist. He also suffered from extensive nerve damage, which caused the temporary loss of feeling in his limbs.

Renner was forced to take a break from filming “Tag” and undergo multiple surgeries and months of physical therapy to regain mobility in his arms and hands.

“Tag” follows a group of old friends who have been playing a never-ending game of tag for over 30 years. Renner’s character is known for never having been tagged, making him the ultimate target for his friends.

The film also stars Ed Helms, Jon Hamm, Hannibal Buress, and Jake Johnson, and is set to hit theaters on June 15th.

Renner’s experience highlights the often overlooked dangers that stunt performers and actors face while filming. While the end result may be thrilling for audiences, it’s important to remember that it comes at a significant risk to those on set.
