According to recent reports, Kaly Cuoco is finally getting her due. The “Flight Attendant” actor got her first-ever Emmy nomination on Tuesday. She snagged a selection in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series category for her work in “The Flight Attendant”. Cuoco is also up against the fellow nominees Tracee Ellis Ross for “Blackish”, Jean Smart for “Hacks” Aidy Brant for “shrill” and Allison Janney for “Mom”.
It is quite a big milestone for Cuoco, who for years was snubbed for her work on The Big Bang Theory. While her co-stars earned many award show nominations and accolades she was left behind. The actor also recorded the moment when she found out about her nomination while sitting on her couch while watching the laptop. After hearing her name, Cuco reacted in glee and kept on saying “Oh My God Is this for real”/
Cuco wrote in her Instagram post with a crying face emoji.
“Thank you @televisionacad for a moment I will never forget. 9 nods for team @flightattendantonmax. Thank you thank you to my entire flight crew!!!! Surreal.”
The Flight Attendant series earned a total of nine nominations which includes a nomination in the Outstanding Comedy Series category and an Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series nod for actor Rosie Perez. Cuoco also admitted that she developed the show which was actually based on a novel by Chris Bohjalian even before reading the book.
She said in an interview. “The cover of the book is a blonde woman. It just kind of looks like me,”. After reading one sentence of the novel, Cuoco asked her team to get the rights to the book so that she can turn it into a show. And that’s how the series unfolded in front of the audience. Now let’s see how many awards the series actually wins after getting into the nominations.
