Keanu Reeves gets asked about his favorite movie villain
Keanu Reeves has played various action heroes throughout his career, fighting off numerous villains. But when he was recently asked during a Q&A after a special IGN screening of John Wick: Chapter 4 about his favorite movie villain, his answer was not surprising at all.
Reeves’ favorite movie villain is Agent Smith, played by Hugo Weaving, in The Matrix series. Agent Smith is a menacing villain who relentlessly hunts down Neo and anyone or anything else that would disrupt order in The Machine.
Reeves expressed his fondness for Weaving’s portrayal of Agent Smith, who appeared in the original Matrix trilogy that ended with Revolutions. However, in the long-lead sequel The Matrix Resurrections released in 2021, Weaving was replaced by Jonathan Groff.
During the Q&A, Reeves and director Chad Stahelski discussed various topics, including Stahelski’s upcoming movie adaptation of Sucker Punch’s hit video game Ghost of Tsushima and what the filmmaker learned from John Wick.
John Wick: Chapter 4 is scheduled for release this weekend, and fans are excited. IGN gave the movie a perfect 10/10 rating and said that Chapter 4 “firmly cements John Wick as standing shoulder to shoulder with The Matrix’s Neo as part of Keanu Reeves’ nearly unparalleled action hero lineup.”
