Recently seen in the series “The Fugitive” and “Designated Survivor”, Kiefer Sutherland continues his way on the small screen with a new project for the Paramount + platform.
A big regular in action and spy series, Kiefer Sutherland signs for new 8-episode fiction for the Paramount + platform. Still untitled, the program follows the adventures of James Weir, a private agent in the midst of a battle to protect democracy in a world of pervasive disinformation, manipulation, and surveillance.
Described as a paranoid thriller, the project seems to draw inspiration from the great subjects of modern society to deliver a political intrigue that is in keeping with the commitments of the Canadian actor. The series Designated Survivor, in which he plays the president States – United, already offered a critical view of US policy.
To bring this new project to fruition, which has not yet started filming, directors and screenwriters John Requa, Glenn Ficarra (This Is Us, I Love You Phillip Morris), Suzan Bymel Designated Survivor, and Charlie Gogolak (The Sinner) will be responsible for producing the series. “I have been a great admirer of the unique work of John Requa and Glenn Ficarra for some time now and I am happy to look into this exciting project with them,” Kiefer Sutherland said in a statement. Keifer Sutherland’s last renowned show was Designated Survivor whose fandom lasted for years and fans are still waiting for an announcement of revival. But we all know the Designated Survivor won’t return for any new ventures as Sutherland is all ready to take the leap from Netflix to Paramount.
