After working together on “Good Will Hunting”, a film for which they won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay in 1997, and “The Last Duel”, directed by Ridley Scott, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck will reunite on screen.

The prolific duo will co-write the screenplay for the biographical drama about the life of Nike executive Sonny Vacarro.

Untitled yet, the story will focus on the company’s groundbreaking deal with then-rising NBA star Michael Jordan, which helped bring the brand to the top it occupies to this day.

After the premiere of the docuseries “The Last Dance” in 2020 on Netflix, the figure of Michael Jordan once again took center stage, becoming TT on all social networks, which is why Nike relaunched the Jordan worldwide, sneakers inspired by the player and that today are one of the brand’s best-selling products.

It is unknown if this film will be released direct to streaming or will go through the cinema first, as well as the director and the actors that will make up the cast. At the moment, Affleck and Damon write the script against the clock to be able to go to the casting stage as soon as possible and shoot the tape in time so that it can be taken into account for the awards season.
