Mélanie Thierry can be found on the small screen at the start of 2021: on February 4 on Arte, viewers will be able to discover her in the new series. In therapy, performed by the popular duo of Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache. An exciting new project for the 39-year-old actress who “dreamed of touring with them“, as she was able to tell the magazine Femina version and its January 4 edition. An interview during which the singer Raphaël’s companion also confided to having just started a psychoanalysis there is little.
“A few months before passing the casting for In therapy, I said to myself that it might be interesting to follow a psychoanalysis. Without really knowing where it was going to lead: I feel pretty good in my sneakers. But I find it interesting to confront yourself, to dig a little in the tunnels, the mother of Roman and Alyosha (12 and 7 years old) she first explained. I had started a job with a wonderful woman, whom I cowardly abandoned at the time of the first confinement.”
As for resuming her psychoanalysis where she left off last spring, Mélanie Thierry postpones making a new appointment: “Say I still find excuses : summer, work, confinement … I know that therapy stirs things up, makes you vulnerable and requires courage. I am also always reassured with the idea that my job is a means of doing one’s psychoanalysis, through the characters (…). Especially when, like me, you are a person who wallows in silence.”
Soon to be 40 years old, the actress was awarded the Cesarean in 2010 for her role in The Last for the Road considers not having “no reason“to shut up” since “everything is going well in life“. A gain of confidence that she uses in front of the camera:”I feel that I have gained a little in thickness. And, to be completely frank, I find that I have improved. I manage to no longer hide, to no longer be ashamed. For a long time I lacked nerve, I was almost too well brought up (…)“, she confided to our colleagues.”Sometimes, by listening too much to others, I didn’t listen to myself. Over time, I learned but, at 20, it’s sometimes complicated.”
