The fiction will end with its fifth season, whose premiere is scheduled for the second half of 2021
Miguel Herrán shared on Thursday, April 22, on his Instagram account a publication to say goodbye to Rio, his character in La Casa de Papel. The actor seems to confirm that that day he finished his work recording the fifth season of the series.
The man from Malaga uploaded a photo of himself inside a vehicle to the aforementioned social network, in which he has more than 13 million followers. “Rio, it has been an incredible journey with you. Today we closed a stage together and I can only tell you two things … Thank you and I love you!”, He wrote.
Some of his companions in fiction answered him. “Thank you, Miguel,” Pedro Alonso commented. “Thank you, my dear Rio,” said Alvaro Morte. “Handsome you,” added Jaime Lorente. “We are a river of tears right now,” said the account of Netflix Spain.

Herran’s message comes a few days after Pedro Alonso, who plays Berlin in the drama, also published on Instagram an enigmatic message with the flavor of farewell. The interpreter shared a long text that ends with a mention of the person in charge of giving life to the Professor in fiction: “It has been an extraordinary journey, Alvaro Morte .”
Fernando Cayo, who plays the role of Colonel Tamayo in the production, declared in an interview:
“We are ending and an absolutely beastly season is remaining … The level of production is stratospheric. People go hallucinate about what happens there because it is spectacular. “
THE PREMIERE OF THE LAST SEASON
The fifth season of La Casa de Papel will be the last and will have a total of 10 episodes. Its production started in August 2020 and filming has passed through Denmark, Portugal, and Spain. In this final stretch, the actors Patrick Criado and Miguel Angel Silvestre have joined the cast of the series.
The new installments still do not have an exact release date. Netflix indicated in a presentation of financial results in April that the episodes will reach the streaming platform in the second half of 2021.
