NCIS Season 19: They confirm the arrival of the new agent who joins the CBS drama

NCIS, the long-running crime drama that premiered on the CBS broadcast network in 2003, heads toward its 19th season finale with riveting new episodes on Mondays each week. The series was renewed for a 20th season, as were the NCIS: Los Angeles spinoffs for its fourteenth installment, while the most recent spinoff, NCIS: Hawaii, was given permission to develop the second.

NCIS season 19 has been one of the most devastating installments in the entire history of the drama. Fans of the show are still reeling from the departure of Leroy Gibbs (Mark Harmon) during the events of the fourth episode, which aired in October of last year. Although some hope that the former leader of the team of agents will return with the final episodes, neither the production nor CBS have confirmed it so far.

But what NCIS fans should be sure of is that the series’ 19th season cast is still growing. Deadline exclusively reported Thursday that a new member will be coming to the show in a recurring role. It’s confirmed that actress Teri Polo is joining the CBS drama series, and her character is directly related to the team’s new leader, Gary Cole’s agent Alden Parker.

Teri Polo will join Cole on NCIS to play Vivian Kolchak, the ex-wife of Special Agent Alden Parker, a former FBI agent who left law enforcement after her divorce and took a Defense Department job as a paranormal investigator. The new character, she is scheduled to appear for the first time as a guest in the final episode of season 19.

According to Deadline, Polo will return as a recurring with the 20th season of NCIS. So far, it’s unclear what her role will be within the long-running CBS drama, but if the character is associated with Alden Parker, fans will surely be able to see her frequently on the show starting next season.

NCIS primarily stars Sean Murray, Wilmer Valderrama, Brian Dietzen, Diona Reasonover and Katrina Law, with David McCallum, Rocky Carroll and Gary Cole, who joined in the current installment before Mark Harmon’s departure, with the purpose of occupying the void left by the interpreter of Leroy Gibbs.
