New teaser for ‘Doctor Strange 2’ confirms the appearance of the Illuminati

We are only a few days away from the premiere of “Doctor Strange 2: Into the Multiverse of Madness”, one of the most anticipated films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after “Spiderman: No Way Home”. Now, a new teaser has officially confirmed the appearance of The Illuminati.

With the exploration of the Marvel Multiverse, ‘Doctor Strange 2’ is the company’s next big bet to introduce new characters that had not been part of the MCU, until now. Patrick Stewart appears to be the first to arrive as Professor X, but fans want to see other FOX characters.

Since the first trailer for ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’, the possible appearance of The Illuminati had been anticipated, an elite group that guards the integrity of the Multiverse, with characters like Tony Stark, Stephen Strange, Black Bolt, Reed Richards, Namor and Professor X, although sometimes the lineup changes a bit.

With Disney’s acquisition of Marvel characters formerly owned by FOX, it’s possible that mutants, among others, will finally get a chance in the MCU. And this is confirmed by a new teaser for the film starring Benedict Cumberbatch, entitled “Time.”

‘Doctor Strange 2’ welcomes the Illuminati

In the trailer, Chiwetel Ejiofor’s character Mordo introduces Stephen Strange to this group known as The Illuminati. This scene is where the protagonist is escorted by Ultron’s robots, towards the great room where a group of people in shadows were.

The meeting of The Illuminati with Stephen Strange seems to be due to the recent events with the Multiverse, as this group is in charge of protecting the different timelines, although its alignment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a mystery so far.

There are those who believe that the Iron Man of this group will be replaced by the variant of Superior Iron Man, played by Tom Cruise, although recent rumors indicate otherwise. For now, we will have to wait a few more days, until next May 4 when ‘Doctor Strange 2’ is released.
