This Music That I Find Sucks…

French singer and actor Patrick Bruel has some strong opinions about the current state of the music industry. During a recent interview with MSN, the 61-year-old star didn’t hold back when it came to expressing his dislike for certain modern music genres.

“This music that I find sucks, it’s just noise,” said Bruel. “I don’t understand why people like it. It’s just like a drug, it’s addictive, but it doesn’t have any real substance.”

Bruel, who has sold over 10 million records worldwide, went on to explain that he believes the music industry has become too focused on profit and commercial success, rather than creating meaningful and innovative music.

“We need to bring back the art in music. Music should be about expressing emotions, telling stories, and connecting with people on a deeper level,” he said. “But today, it’s all about marketing and making money.”

Despite his criticisms, Bruel remains optimistic about the future of music and hopes to inspire a new generation of artists to prioritize authenticity and creativity.

“I believe there are still many talented musicians out there who are trying to do something different and meaningful. It’s just a matter of supporting them and giving them a platform to be heard,” he said.

As for his own music, Bruel is currently working on a new album, set to be released later this year. Fans can expect a mix of classic French chanson and modern pop, with lyrics that touch on themes of love, loss, and hope.

“I want people to feel something when they listen to my music. I want them to be moved and inspired,” said Bruel. “That’s what music should be all about.”
