The last few days have been chaotic for Johnny Depp. The actor is in the middle of a defamation trial against his ex-wife, Amber Heard, and the controversies do not stop growing around him. Accusations and accusations are the protagonists of this legal battle that even ended up being harder and more damaging than that of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. Well, because of this, he has lost great jobs such as Fantastic Beasts 3, which he was going to star in after having been in the first two films.
However, everything seems to indicate that now Robert Downey Jr wants to save his great friend, Johnny Depp, from falling into the misfortune of Hollywood. This is because, as it recently transpired, the Iron Man actor wants to include him in the cast of his new film. After his time at Marvel, Downey is working on other projects and some are still in the process of production, so he saw the perfect opportunity to add his colleague.
This is Sherlock Holmes 3, in which Robert Downey Jr will once again put himself in the shoes of Arthur Conan Doyle’s character. Apparently, the intentions of the interpreter are that Johnny Depp, who barely can, joins the cast to be the protagonist with him after having missed great opportunities. The film is beginning to take shape and will continue with the trilogy that began in 2008 and premiered its second part, Game of Shadows, in 2011.
At the moment in what seems to be the last feature film about Sherlock Holmes, there is no more news, except that Robert wants to add Depp to the cast. However, this probably can’t happen since the production is part of Warner Bros. That is the same company that fired Johnny from Fantastic Beasts when Amber Heard’s allegations began in 2018.
Also, at the moment, it is not known that Johnny Depp has reopened his work schedule. For now, the only thing that is known about him is that he is focused on the trial and that it comes out as he and his lawyers expect it. Of course, the truth is that if so, it has no planned projects, so Sherlock Holmes could be a great alternative.
