In 2012, he was elected to Florida’s Republican primary 6th congressional district and made his way into the House of Representatives. Ron swore for the Governor on January 8, 2019, for his first tenure. He signed the law ending the restriction on the use of medical marijuana. This law is named SB 182. Months after this SB 182 law, another law was signed by DeSantis, i.e., SB 168, Federal Immigration Enforcement.
In 2020, during the Covid outbreak, Ron’s decision was against imposing the emergency in the state. Many had criticized his approach, but Ron was firm with his decision.
