Miguelina Elói Assis dos Santos, mother of soccer legend Ronaldinho, died this Saturday at the age of 71, due to Covid-19.
Just in December the player had asked for strength for his mother, in a message posted on social networks moments after she was hospitalized.
“We are in the fight so that he recovers soon. I thank you in advance for your prayers, positive energies and affection. Strength, mother,” said Dinho, a former Querétaro player, on that occasion.
The Atlético Mineiro club, one of the clubs in which the Brazilian has played, confirmed the news.
“It is with great sadness that Atlético Mineiro receives the news of the death of Doña Miguelina, mother of Ronaldinho Gaúcho. The Atleticana Family is in mourning and shares the moment of pain with their idol. May God receive you with open arms and comfort the heart of our eternal ace. Rest in peace, Mrs. Miguelina, “said the team.
Ronaldinho’s family also confirmed the death.
