Selena Gomez has accomplished a long-term goal after achieving a Golden Globe nomination for her Hulu show My Mind and Me. After rising to fame as a Disney star, Gomez wasn’t always happy with her past label constraining her. The 30-year-old spoke out to Vanity Fair about how she overcame the pressure and was able to be her true self.

Part of her success was due to understanding that being a role model doesn’t necessarily mean you have to be perfect; in fact, it has more to do with being true to yourself, she explained. Gomez also opened up about being diagnosed with lupus and her battle with bipolar disorder in her Apple TV+ documentary.

Gomez has won many awards over the years but the singer-actress confessed back in 2011 at the Grammys that she “was more of a Golden Globe or Oscar girl”.

Well it looks like her wish has come true! The Only Murders in the Building star recently earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a TV Series, Musical or Comedy at the 2023 ceremony. Here’s wishing Gomez more success as she continues to strive for more!
