Gal Gadot’s Appearance in Shazam! Fury of the Gods Confirmed to be Real

Director David F. Sandberg has confirmed that Gal Gadot’s cameo in Shazam! Fury of the Gods was not a deepfake as some believed. Gadot played Wonder Woman in the scene where she shows up at Billy Batson’s funeral to repair the Wizard’s staff and resurrect Billy.

There were doubts about Gadot’s appearance due to the set visit photos featuring her body double Taylor Cahill. However, Sandberg explained that the scene had to be shot remotely, and they used Cahill to figure out the coverage they needed to get with Gadot since she couldn’t make it to Atlanta.

Sandberg shared a video of him editing the scene with Gadot and tweeted, “When you see Gal it’s 100% her.” The director previously responded to the movie’s middling reviews, and star Zachary Levi has commented on rumors that Dwayne Johnson blocked him from a cameo in Black Adam.
