The Lord Of The Rings is currently one of the most loved amazon prime series that fans are excited to see in 2021. However, we have some bad news for you, The Lord of the Rings is not going to come to Amazon Prime in December 2021 and you may have to wait a little longer for it.
There were many shows from Amazon Prime fans who were expecting to watch this December, but disappointing all the fans, amazon finally announced that the series won’t be coming in December 2021. This news came out when our sources check the list of releases for December 2021 and Lord of The Rings was not available there in the list of arrivals. Although it was not expected still fans were hoping for a Christmas miracle but unfortunately, we are not getting one.
Lord of the Rings premiere date
Amazon has already shared its final premiere date release for the Lord of the Rings series and we have bad news for you. There is a long and long wait in the hands of fans until the series gets to our streaming screen.
According to the reports the Lord of The Rings series will be arriving on 2nd September 2022, Friday which is quite far away from the present date. We know it’s quite disappointing to know that the series won’t be coming this year but it’s also very much understandable. you must be wondering why it’s because the series will go into the post-production phase after the shooting gets done and a show like this is going to take a long time as there is so much to do in it.

But with the September 2022 release date, we at least have a little hope in the end that the series will arrive sometime next year. Unlike other series like Maisel Season 4, The Boys season 3 about which we don’t have any idea when they will arrive at Amazon Prime Video.
In addition to this, the reports we got from our sources say that the Lord of the Rings is going to follow a weekly episode release format. That’s because this format has been quite successful for other amazon series. this format also keeps the viewers attached to the series and lets them appreciate the show’s hard work put into each episode.

How many seasons of Amazon’s Lord of the Rings will there be
The moment Amazon signed the rights for Lord of the Rings, they made a deal for a multi-season commitment and also included a spin-off series as well. However, each season will require approval from the amazon executives. According to the reports, the second season of the series has already started filming.
Boss of Amazon Studios even said:
“The number is a sexy headline or a crazy headline that’s fun to click on, but that is really building the infrastructure of what will sustain the whole series.”
Salke also added that “a giant, global audience needs to show up to it as appointment television,” but it is clear that Amazon has the show’s future in mind – and with that kind of investment the streamer is clearly betting on the show lasting several seasons at the very least.
Amazon Prime Lord of the Rings series filming location
According to the confirmation from Amazon Studios, the series will start its shooting once again in Middle-Earth is in the environs of New Zealand. Earlier it was also a backdrop for Peter Jackson’s award-winning trilogy.

“And we’re happy that we are now able to officially confirm New Zealand as our home for our series based on stories from J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings.
“We are grateful to the people and the government of New Zealand and especially Auckland for supporting us during this pre-production phase. The abundant measure of Kiwi hospitality with which they have welcomed us has already made us feel right at home, and we are looking forward to deepening our partnership in the years to come.”
However, the season 2 of The Lord of the Rings will not be filmed in New Zealand and it will be filmed in the UK. According to Amazon Studios TV head, the principal photography of the series will begin at the British shores and will then move to multiple outlets of the UK.
Lord of the Rings on Amazon plot
In January 2021 the official synopsis for Lord of the Rings was given for the series by Amazon Studios.
— TheOneRing.net (@theoneringnet) January 13, 2021
The synopsis reads: “From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone,”
Although the synopsis for the series does not give us much to look forward to it is quite enough for now. The series will be set during Middle Earth’s second age that almost lasted for 3,500 years and ended with Sauron’s defeat. This will open up a battle Lord of the Rings.
