- The episode ‘Here’s Negan’ that airs this Sunday will shed light on the character of Jeffrey Dean Morgan and will dismiss the series until the premiere of the final stretch next summer.
This Sunday we will say goodbye, for the fourth time, to season 10 of The Walking Dead. After the smooth broadcast of its first half, AMC was forced to interrupt the broadcast of the second part in the absence of a single episode, which would finally see the light in October.
Entitled ‘Here’s Negan’ (10×22), the episode will be dedicated to a character as hated as charismatic: Negan, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan from the infamous end of season 6 that ended the life of Abraham ( Michael Cudlitz ) and Glenn ( Steven Yeun ). Like the rest of the episodes of this additional batch commissioned by surprise last summer, the new chapter will serve to shed light on some aspects of the character’s past that still remain a mystery.
The basis of the episode is the eponymous spin-off comic published by Robert Kirkman, but Angela Kang and her team, as usual, have also made changes. Here are 3 revelations about Negan’s past that we will see in the season 10 finale:
WHAT WAS HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH LUCILLE LIKE AND IF HE WAS UNFAITHFUL
The one in charge of giving life to Negan’s wife is the actress that Jeffrey Dean Morgan had always proposed as the perfect Lucille: His wife in real life, Hilarie Burton. While in the comic Lucille dies right at the beginning of the apocalypse and in a hospital bed, in the series we will see her fighting the battle against the zombies at least for a time. This is revealed by the advances made to date, in which we have come to see her saving Negan’s life.
In the AMC fiction, Lucille and Negan take refuge in a kind of bunker with a refrigerator with palliative drugs. Thus, we will have time to find out what the relationship they had was like and if, as in the comics, infidelity from him weighed on the couple.
WHERE AND WITH WHOM DID THEY LIVE BEFORE THE SANCTUARY
It seems that Negan and Lucille were alone at the beginning of the apocalypse, but the episode will have to reveal if they shared the shelter with other survivors either from the beginning or later. Few are the survivors who, as happened with Michonne, began their journey alone, so it is to be expected that Lucille and Negan also shared experiences with other people.
Whether or not they were Los Salvadores or agenesis of Los Salvadores or a completely different group will be another of the mysteries to be answered by ‘Here’s Negan’ (10×22) this Sunday.
HOW AND WHY DID HE BECOME A CRUEL AND RUTHLESS PERSON
Why there is a before and after the death of Lucille in Negan is something that the episode has to explain. Beyond the evidence of a man broken by loss, the character’s cruelty and ruthless behaviors are not justified in the death of a loved one, but there is more than likely something else.
How did Negan lose faith in humanity to such an extent that he didn’t feel any kind of appreciation for the lives of others? What happened to him and Lucille with other survivors who crossed their path?
