Will Smith suffers the first consequences of the slap to Chris Rock in his future projects

The celebration after the Oscar did not last long for Will Smith who, after resigning from the Academy, now faces the cancellation of several of his contracts, after the slap he gave Chris Rock live during the 94th Oscars .

As published by The Hollywood Reporter, the fourth part of “Bad Boys” and “Fast and Loose” were put on standby after the scandal, in search of a new protagonist. In the case of the first, Smith only received the first 40 pages of the script before the Oscars, and was already informed of the cancellation of his contract; while the second was already close to starting filming, but director David Leitch and Netflix, the producer behind the story, decided to end their alliance with the actor who was going to play the role of a criminal who loses his memory after being attacked.

In addition to these two projects in the pipeline, Will Smith has pending the premiere of the Apple TV + thriller, “Emancipation”. The film is in post-production and was scheduled to be released at the end of this year, but the platform is still waiting to define whether this title will remain on standby until the waters calm down.

While for many, winning the Oscar is synonymous with new and juicy projects, for Will Smith, having won it seems to be a real curse that threatens to cut short his prolific career.
